Today, we remember Marion County Sheriff’s Office Posse Member Hosea Elwell Cook.

On this date in 1915, H. Elwell Cook accompanied Marion County Sheriff J.M. Dozier in the search for a burglary fugitive who had shot at Sheriff Dozier earlier. During the search, the fugitive shot and killed Mr. Cook.
