Today, we remember Southern Railway Police Department Special Officer James Reedy Booth and Special Officer Eugene Malici Feaster, Eastover Police Department Chief of Police Elisha A. Wilson, and North Augusta Public Safety Officer Dustin Michael Beasley.

On this date in 1922, Special Officer Jasper Booth and Special Officer Eugene Feaster were beaten, stabbed, and shot to death while patrolling the Southern Railroad’s Hamburg shops in Aiken, South Carolina, at approximately 5:00 am.

On this date in 1945, Chief Elisha Wilson was shot and killed in a local mercantile store by a man he had an argument with the day before.

On this date in 2021, Public Safety Officer Dustin Beasley died from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty while serving with the North Augusta Department of Public Safety.
