On this date in 1895, Dispensary Constable J.J. Moseley was shot and killed while seizing a load of liquor at the Georgia, Carolina and Northern Railway depot in Greenwood, South Carolina.
A Lexington County deputy was injured after being run over by a suspect evading arrest. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening. Our thoughts are with the deputy, and we thank law enforcement for their swift response in apprehending the suspect.
After the hit-and-run crash, the man was taken into custody in Richland County and was charged with multiple crimes, police said.
